Operation
Factory reset
A factory reset restores factory defaults and is the way to recover access if you forget the password. It clears WiFi, removes Zigbee pairing, and resets the web password; firmware stays unchanged. All existing connections are broken.
To reset via Web UI: open System → Device Reset.
To reset with the button: power off; hold the button; power on while holding; keep holding 10s; release.
Zigbee join
To join a new Zigbee network, you must first put ZiggyMeter into pairing mode.
- Enable Permit join on your Zigbee coordinator (hub).
- Start pairing on ZiggyMeter:
- Using the button: Press and hold the button for 4 seconds. The device will reset its Zigbee connection and enter joining mode.
- Using the Web UI: Go to the Zigbee page and click the button.
- Wait for the coordinator to discover the device. Once joined, the connection details will be visible in the Web UI Zigbee section.
If the device does not join, ensure Zigbee is enabled in the settings and the device is within range of the coordinator or another Zigbee router.
Force reading data from meter
You can manually trigger a meter reading at any time. This is particularly useful during initial installation or troubleshooting to verify that the optical interface is correctly aligned and communicating.
- Using the button: Perform a single short click on the device button.
- Using the Web UI: Navigate to the Meter → Readings section and click the button.
When a reading is in progress, the Red LED will light up while the device communicates with the meter's optical port.
Activate Wi‑Fi
To activate Wi‑Fi, double-click the device button.
- Initial Mode: On a new device or after a factory reset, activating Wi‑Fi starts it in Access Point (AP) mode.
- Client Mode: Once you configure your home network credentials in the Web UI, the device will connect to your local Wi‑Fi as a client on subsequent activations.
